Twitter Search Engine Aims to Reel You in to Your Own Page
Twitter has a big step closer to incorporating real-time search on individual user pages, a bid to keep and hold eyeballs on member sites already serving up a limited variety of ads.
While not specifically touted as part of a business plan this is a design challenge aimed at making your Twitter home sticky — for you. User pages are dull and can’t be easily customized, and there are no shortage of ways to be on Twitter and avoid your own Twitter page. So, well-implemented search is a clever way of bringing users home as Twitter experiments with ads by placing a small unit right below your profile and stats.
